Rodney Mason Player Spolight
Former Division 2 New Mexico Highlands forward Rodney Mason II has announced his commitment to head to NAIA Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
Mason II states he chose TAMTU because “my family finally being able to see me play is huge for me going into these final years of my collegiate career.” Mason a tough and gritty player needs a place that fits him the best and Rodney told JMH Media “Coach Wall did a wonderful job make me feel wanted at TAMUT….I will forever be thankful for the opportunities Highlands gave me..”
Mason announced his commitment on instagram.
Before playing at New Mexico Highlands Mason had also spent time at Otero junior college in La Junta, Colorado.
Mason a native of Memphis, Tennessee, averaged 23.1 minutes per game, as well as 7.5 ppg and is a great defensive player and will be a huge help defensively for an Eagles team that allowed 76 PPG in the 2023-24 season.

I got to know Rodney over these past couple years, he is a great basketball player and an even better person. Going to definitely miss having him around next year not only as a player but as a friend too.
